Gregory C. Persak, M.D. is the Medical Director of The Center for Eye Care & Optical. He is also the Medical Director of the Northwell Melville Surgery Center.
Gregory Persak, M.D. obtained his B.A. from Boston University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Betta Kappa. He attended Boston University Medical School and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Persak is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and currently on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, Southside Hospital and Northwell Melville Surgery Center. He has over 30 years experience having performed thousands of cataract surgeries. He specializes in complicated cataract surgery utilizing the latest technology.
Dr. Persak is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. The numerous professional societies and organizations of which Dr. Persak is a member include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, New York State Ophthalmological Society, Suffolk County Ophthalmological Society, Long Island Ophthalmological Society, Medical Society of New York, Research to Prevent Blindness and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Persak is a member of the Lions Club and has participated in ophthalmic medical missions in Ecuador and the Dominican Republic providing ophthalmic surgery to the poor. He has been recognized by the president of Ecuador for his service.
