Dr. Ovodenko, is a board-certified Ophthalmologist. He specializes in refractive and advanced cataract surgery with Toric and Multifocal Restor IOLs as well as comprehensive eye care. Dr. Ovodenko graduated Summa Cum Laude in three years from Johns Hopkins University where he earned the distinction of being elected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He attended the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn where he earned an M.D. degree, after which he completed an internship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then went on to The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he did a Glaucoma Research Fellowship under Robert Ritch, M.D., an international authority on glaucoma. This was followed by an Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He pursued two years of additional post-residency training with one of the world’s leading cataract surgeons affiliated with the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and with an internationally recognized laser vision correction surgeon affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Ovodenko was the first resident physician in New York to implant Crystalens 5-0 to reduce dependence on glasses. As a Clinical Instructor at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary for over five years after his residency, Dr. Ovodenko had dedicated time to training the next generation of eye surgeons by teaching them clinical skills and enhancing their surgical expertise.
